Project 1- Acorns (game concept) Through the woods

 Through the woods

Further development & ideas
Another way to approach the game in a slightly simple way would be to use a maze. Rather than having a large open world with a changing diffuclty, I thought a maze would be a good way to keep the main elements of the game while making it slightly simpler. Where the creature is chasing you through a maze, the music would become more intense and faster as he gets closer to you. The symbols could also work to perhaps open and close paths in the maze, to make it easier or harder to get away from him.

I also thought of potentially developing the environment to be a bit more abstract and unrealisitc which may prove to be even scarier, and also lead to an interesting development of the character. Images such as these ones would inspire such an environment.

Inspiration

I drew inspiration firstly from The Blair Witch project. I really liked the scary symbols and the mystery behind it, not knowing what was out there. I also drew inspiration from the game slender man. Which influenced my style of gameplay. I really liked the creepy surprise element of Slenderman which proved to be a very scary game to play.
